As a result of technological development in internet technology, several online services have come to existence, e.g. online banking, shopping and video conferencing amongst others. An online service that has risen to popularity in the recent years is social network service, i.e. a platform on the internet that not only enables individuals to communicate with each other via email and chat but to also share interest and activities. Examples include Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and YouTube. An emerging trend in social networking is fan page. Fan page is an avenue through which an individual or a company can endorse a product, service or idealism by taking advantage of mass following.

1. Creating links with existing platforms

In closing it is important to understand that your Facebook fan page will not grow over night by targeting the entire Facebook family. Let your target lean towards a particular demographic that has a particular liking for your product or service.
